I always love it when people with no knowledge of science whatsoever start to protest something that isn't actually what it is. Like this. Apparently, testing to determine how hormones determine the sexual prefrences of rams is "frightening," and has no relevence to science at all, and especially to humans, so should be stopped.
Now, let's forget that;
- The scientist in question actually says that this has little implication for humans, whose sexuality is "is much more complex than that of rams so we don't refer to the animals as gay."1
- The actual experiment doesn't alter "gay sheep". It alters sheep who prefer ewes to prefer rams, sexually. By their terminology, it alters straight sheep.
- The experiment didn't work. At all.
Of course, gay rights activists jumped on this. Especially the ones who are with PETA.
I do so love the misinterpretation of science.

Related point: I hate it when opinion masquerades as journalism. There was no rational analysis of the situation here, and the "facts" were highly dubious.
However, I will admit that it's extremely unlikely that we will find anything unbiased from a website called stopanimaltests.com.
The sad thing is, you and I are Physical Scientists with no relevant experience of the field of study and we can see the futility in the accusations PETA came up with.
Then again, Animal rights activists making no sense at all? I think we've all been there before. *coughTHOSE BASTARDS BLEW UP MY BOAT HOUSEcough*
Oxford changed me in one main way: it made me hate animal rights activists with the fury of a dying star.
I always have a certain affection for people who can take a point of view that all sane people subscirbe to- "suffering is bad"- and make it unfashionable.
