I have been relatively silent for a while, mainly because I've been too dehydrated of creativity to feel that I should post anything I've encountered in life recently. Unless you're particularly interested in Jewish political history, of course. But I thought that you should all know that Mansfield's JCR motto, 'from the sublime to the ridiculous' was used in this evening's episode of The Archers. I'm sure it was a direct reference.

The Archers? You're more British than the British (who all decided the Archers was hideously boring a long time ago). The last time I listened to it somebody was debating the merits of feeding turnips to cows straight after they're milked - that way it doesn't turn the milk sour.

Then you listened to it pretty recently, as that was last week's 'big storyline.' And the Archers has a loyal following of listeners with their tongues firmly in their cheeks, and which is also where its own tongue is, most of the time.
